summary/notes: This started out as a "Joy"-centric vid that I was just mucking around with, and unintentionally ended up with a plot (making it somewhat AU to "Joy" but still "Joy"-centric): Cuddy tries again to have another baby after Joy, with House's help, but complications arise and she loses the child and her relationship with House is almost severed.

I only started making this vid last night, and ended up getting so engrossed and caught up in it that I finished it in record time (record time for me, anyway). This vid means a lot to me - I could go on a big gushy ramble about why, but I'm not going to. I'm hoping the strong emotions I got making this will come through clearly and be self-explanatory.

Great video, this song is amazing!

Yeah, it's an amazing song. I'd been planning on using it for a House/Cuddy vid, but held back because I wanted to see what "Joy" would bring. And... yes. This song was IT for that episode, for me.

This was so much more powerfull than the episode. Even though it's only a short vid, it felt less rushed and way deeper than the canon story. To me, this will become part of my personal canon now. Thank you!

I especially liked how a lot of it was scenes of them waiting. Waiting for miracles that in the end might not come. Brilliant.

Also, I just teared up over House again. It's been a long time. :-)

It's so weird, too, because usually I plan my vids out, or at least have some kind of direction or goal. With this vid, I had no goal whatsoever in mind. I just made it and this was what I ended up with. And I have to say, this vid feels the most satisfying and complete to me, because it just addressed everything I've ever wanted to address in a House/Cuddy vid - and I didn't even plan it!

Oh, my soul. Why you do this to me? I had to watch this without audio (I'm in lecture) (bad student) and it was STILL heartbreaking. I love the way you use clips from various episodes - I see things all the time that look like they're random images stuck together, but yours really do tell a story; the use of black and white, the cuts, everything. Just gorgeous. I can't want to watch it with the audio.

Also, I don't suppose you have this as an mp4? I'd llooooove to put it on my iPod. *LOSER*

The moment I saw that scene of Cuddy sitting on the floor in the bedroom, I immediately was reminded of the scene where House was doing the same in Wilson's empty office. I flailed at the parallel, ahahaha.

My heart is officially shattered in tiny pieces. Emotionally, this pulls no punches--the choice of clips, the song (oh lord, the *song*) are perfect.

Critically, I thought the fade-outs went too long, compared to the cuts between different scenes. But I'm not a vidder, just a watcher, so feel free to ignore my opinion. :-) Otherwise--pitch perfect.

ETA: did you slow the kiss down somehow? Because I got the feeling that it was more for comfort than needy desperation as the show portrayed. And--wow, that kiss in the vid *works*.

I won't lie - I made myself cry making this vid. So, I'm really glad the emotion came across, because that was what I really wanted to convey.

Just because you're a watcher doesn't make your concrit invalid! I actually find fades THE hardest thing to do because I find it so hard to judge what is too long or too short. To me, a long fade might look good, but objectively it might not. Though, sometimes I make my fades longer because of the footage - for example, in this vid, at around the 3 minute mark is a long shot of Cuddy that has a long fade while it slowly pans down. I had to make that fade long because there's a gratuitous cleavage shot which I thought spoiled the mood of the vid, hahaha. So, I made it a long fade to distract from that and mask it.

Yes, I slowed it right down, some shots more than others (and I cheated by doubling up on the footage, by cutting and cropping it all differently so it looked, well, different! And like I wasn't using the same footage twice, lol). Yeah, comfort - and love - was what I aiming for with the kissing scene, instead of desperate and needy. I'm very glad it works in this!

I am completely in love with you, this video, this song... I've always loved the song but had never known what it was called. Now I know.

The way that you were focusing on the baby as "angel" made me tear up. The lighting that you had at 1:00 made the little thing look so... I think "ethereal" is the word I'm looking for. Almost like she's singing.

I also hadn't noticed during the episode how House was intently watching Cuddy during the OR, so the way that you caught that at about :38 was great. Very powerful.

YES. I hoped someone would notice that the angel was the baby. That was honestly not something I even planned to do until I had reached that point of the song and wondered what on earth to put there - I was scrolling through "Maternity" and thinking this vid was just not going to come together, and then happened to stop scrolling right on that very scene with the baby crying and it just clicked. I toyed around with the lighting and colouring for ages - it was going to be coloured and frosted so it had this etheral glow to it, but it didn't look right. I'm glad I stuck with black and white instead.

And yeaaahhhh. The way House was watching Cuddy in the OR was pretty intense. Guh. God, I love House/Cuddy. ♥
