summary & notes: A video from House's perspective, largely a character study of sorts through themes of relationships, pain and drug issues. The storyline: House, Cuddy and Wilson end up in a messy, complicated entanglement, which evolved over time through House's issues. None of them are willing to call it a relationship, yet they are all so entangled with each other that they can't quit what is going on between them. Through this threesome, they develop strange, secret relationships with each other - House with Cuddy, Cuddy with Wilson, House with Wilson. House being House becomes increasingly troubled with his drug and pain issues, and out of his own sheer jealousy problems becomes increasingly suspicious and jealous of Wilson and Cuddy's relationship. He fears he's going to lose his friendship with Wilson and Cuddy, though he won't admit it, and that leads him on a downward spiral - and drives the relationship between the three of them towards mutual destruction.

I discovered this plug-in that creates a jerky camera effect! So, I had to experiment because omg. Awesome feature the programme I use comes with. I used this plug-in incorporated with a film filter that creates a grainy, low-quality film effect - which results in a very gritty, edgy feel to the footage. Initially, I was just mucking around in Vegas to see what I could do with the plug-in, using Tainted Love to experiment with, because it's such a cool, gritty song. I know - some people are going to laugh at that. Like, omgwtf a House vid to a Marilyn Manson song?? Lololol. Either lol at that fact or enjoy the vid - I don't mind which. But the reason why I decided to use these filters and plug-ins throughout the whole video is because I wanted to give a disorienting feel to the video; to make the viewer feel like they're inside House's head, thinking his chaotic thoughts and feeling his chaotic emotions.

The downside to it is the file size - both the plug-in and the filter resulted in the vid being way bigger in file size than I expected. 1GB, to be precise. I managed to compress it down to 96MB, which was as small as I could get it without losing picture quality. The vid doesn't look anywhere near as good in YouTube as it does from the actual file itself. So, if you want a much better quality than what YT offers, I recommend downloading it.

tainted love is one of my alltime favs! Both the Soft Cell and the MM-Version. Unfortunately I can't see the vid, my stoneage internet connection doesn't stomache vids or anything more advanced then eMails, but I've chaught some glimpses and it's amazing.

OMG, awesome. Let me begin at the beginning and say how much I love the beginnings of your vids. The shaky camera effect was really appropriate. You went a little happy with it, but it still works. Favorite part was the bit with House spying on Wilson and Cuddy in the restaurant. I love when footage is manipulated like that to tell a different story, and you do it really well. Also, you always pick the best "everyone with very distressed faces" footage. Hee. You have this wonderful way of choosing footage that is perfect for the moment. God, I love your vids. The House/Wilson/Cuddy angst-fests are some of my favorites. =D

Vids are the same as fics - you want a sharp, snappy beginning that catches the attention of the audience so they'll keep watching. Which is what I try to do with my vids. So, yay - I'm so glad you like the way I start my vids. ♥

Lol I did go a bit happy with the effects. I realised that once I'd saved the video and watched it all properly (because in the vidding programme, it stalls a bit on playback so you never quite get the accurate idea of what the video looks like until it's a saved final product). But yeah - I love trying to reconstruct footage in a way that tells a new story. It's so much fun. I do the same with the songs I use, in that I edit them so they fit the idea of the vid more. Makes the whole vid like it's MINE then, if I edit everything. If that makes sense?

This was really good. Very disorienting, and I say that with all the love in the world. =D You definitely succeeded in that aspect of it. I also LOVE the song. I have never heard that cover, and you did a great job incorporating the song with the footage. My favorite part was 0:22. You timed Wilson turning perfectly with the music and I flailed a little. LOL. That whole sequence of them walking away from each other was great. I really love the feel of the vid. Great job! <3

The sequence with them walking away from each other is one of my fave bits, too. I had no idea what to put in that part originally and was scrolling through loads of footage to find something - and found that footage of Wilson walking away from House in Autopsy and was like, OMG YES. THAT IS PERFECT.

Whoa. Definitely edgy and dark and painful and broken. Love, love, love the new effects! Brilliant way of using them. They captured House's tortured mind and conflicted feelings to the T. I've never heard this version of the song before so that only added to the awesomeness that you've created. :D

Marilyn Manson and House M.D. actually makes total sense! I've been waiting for someone to do Tainted Love done right. THANK YOU. FABULOUS. I love the twitchy cam filter and then Marilyn's raspy voice. It's so rugged and fits the OT3 storyline.

I have a few other of his songs I'm tempted to vid to. I'll have to think about it some more because it will either work or just look completely ridiculous. :-P

MAN, that was intense. I love the Manson version of that song. You never realize just how dark and depressing a song it is until you hear it like that, and the context of it is just perfect for this vid. And gaaah, you outdo yourself every time. I love how gritty this was. Yay for Ticcy!vids :D

I'm going to have to watch I don't incorporate the jerky cam effect into any other vids I make, because it's SO MUCH FUN TO MUCK AROUND WITH. I think I might have overdone it a bit in this video, but I'll excuse myself by saying it was the first time I'd ever tried that effect :-P
