I don't think you have anything to worry about. The motif definitely worked - there was a strong note of all things jealous and jealousy oriented, the mood was darker, it was impossible to deny that. And anyone that gets petulant about clips being repeated needs to shush up already because sometimes it's the best way to communicate concepts of memory.
