This didn't actually turn out the way the prompt asked, though: I based this around the same timeline as my Turn Off The Night series, even including some references to it, though this fic is ambiguous enough to not necessarily have to be read as part of that universe. In other words, you can read this as a stand alone, if you prefer.

I was bunnied by the history of House and Cuddy on cuddys_house, when they slept together for the first time. So, if you follow that game, consider this a kind of backstory to that.
